As you clean out your closets, think of The Princess Project and the new life and memories waiting to be breathed into your dresses and accessories. We are grateful to all of our donors! We particularly are in need of fancy jewelry, purses, wraps, and new or nearly new gowns in EXCELLENT condition in all fabrics, sizes, and colors that meet our strict Donation Guidelines.

2009 Community Dress & Accessory Drive

SAN FRANCISCO:
From March 13 - 31, drop off your prom dresses to donate at Saks Fifth Avenue & you’ll receive 20% off a new dress purchase. Bring dresses to level Four in Evening Collections. Saks is located at 384 Post St. in San Francisco.

2009 Private Dress Drive

Gather your friends, classmates, coworkers, & neighbors throughout your community and host a dress drive of your own! Collect prom dresses & accessories to donate to The Princess Project! Start by reading How to Host a Dress Drive Instructions here.

Post a flyer to spread the word about your dress drive! Download our 2009 Dress Drive Poster here. You have the power to make dreams real! Spread the word to all of your friends to donate their prom dresses today! Dresses must be donated to The Princess Project by the end of February, but you can host your own drive AT ANY TIME until then.

Donation Guidelines

We have established firm donation guidelines in an effort to streamline our organizational efforts and solicit goods that will reflect our core values and best serve our constituents.

  1. Dresses MUST be from 2002 to present.
  2. Dresses MUST be dry-cleaned and on hangers.
  3. Dresses MUST be prom dresses, formal gowns, or fancy party dresses.
  4. Accessories MUST be stylish, clean, and in excellent condition.

We cannot accept:

  • garments that are out of style (purchased before 2002)
  • garments that have not been dry-cleaned
  • shoes
  • make-up
  • casual or semi-formal clothing
  • wedding dresses
  • tuxedos or men’s clothes
