Dresses & Accessories

As you clean out your closets, think of The Princess Project and the new life and memories waiting to be breathed into your dresses and accessories. We are grateful to all of our donors! We particularly are in need of fancy jewelry, purses, wraps, and new or nearly new gowns in EXCELLENT condition in all fabrics, sizes, and colors that meet our strict Donation Guidelines.

2008 Community Dress & Accessory Drive

The 2008 Community Dress & Accessory Drive is closed. A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who donated dresses and accessories and to the generous schools and companies who sponsored drop-off location sites. Please keep your dress and accessories for next year’s giveaway!

Sending your Donation

Because we have very little storage space, if you need to mail us dresses, we ask that you send them in January - April only. Please email volunteer@princessproject.org if you would like to send us prom dresses. If you would like a tax-receipt, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope, as well as your name, mailing address, and the value of your donation. If you are donating more than five dresses, please contact us to arrange shipping.

Donation Guidelines

We have established firm donation guidelines in an effort to streamline our organizational efforts and solicit goods that will reflect our core values and best serve our constituents.

  1. Dresses MUST be from 2002 to present.
  2. Dresses MUST be dry-cleaned and on hangers.
  3. Dresses MUST be prom dresses, formal gowns, or fancy party dresses.
  4. Accessories MUST be stylish, clean, and in excellent condition.

We cannot accept:

  • garments that are out of style (purchased before 2002)
  • garments that have not been dry-cleaned
  • shoes
  • make-up
  • casual or semi-formal clothing
  • wedding dresses
  • tuxedos or men’s clothes

Thank you for observing these guidelines!

Quote Mark I knew volunteering for The Princess Project was going to be a special experience, but my day was absolutely made with the first girl that walked in…. We produced a lot of smiles that day, and it was a wonderful feeling."
