Princess Diaries
If you got a prom dress from The Princess Project we would love to hear your prom story! Whether you floated across the dance floor in a fuchsia taffeta gown or your tiara shone bright in every picture, we hope your prom was truly a magical and fun event… and you felt like royalty.

I knew volunteering for The Princess Project was going to be a special experience, but my day was absolutely made with the first girl that walked in…. We produced a lot of smiles that day, and it was a wonderful feeling."

Being an inner city girl is hard. We strive to be the best we can be but that is not always easy. So from time to time it is a good thing for us girls to let loose and have fun at special events like prom. I didn’t have the money to buy a dress because my mom has to support three more of my siblings and my father deserted us seven years ago. This event relieved me so much and made me feel like there is a hope for girls who things don’t come easy to; it also made me feel like there are people out there that care and really do want to make a teenage girl’s dream come true. This was a very special experience for me and I hope that this can be enjoyed by more girls. Thank you Princess Project, the donors, and volunteers who made it possible.

I did not receive a prom dress from The Princess Project, but I did donate a number of dresses for the 2007 event. (I like to think of myself as a fairy godmother…) I check the website periodically for updates and information and love looking at the pictures from the events. (I’m just sorry there aren’t more posted) However, I did see one of my donated dresses being held high by a beautiful girl with a tremendous smile - which put a smile to match on my face as well. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this.

Coming to the Princess Project is such an experience! We get to go to the city with good friends choose a prom dress. My friends have gone two years and me and one other person are seniors this year!! This will hopefully be our third year coming! We have a tradition, we wait in line and get our appointment, then we go over to a close yummy diner and sit there for hours just talking and laughing, then we walk around a bit and then go get our dresses! haha its so much fun. Society thinks that girls should pay hundreds for a prom dress when so many girls can’t afford it, the Princess project makes it so every girl can go to her prom, which is always an experience itself! Thank you Princess project, I hope i can help volunteer one year and see other girls get affected just like i was

I actually went to princess project in 2008, and I had such a wonderful time. I had a “REAL” princess dress. It was white with a lot of sparkles and glitter on it. I felt just like a princess. I had such a wonderful time at prom. thank you so much for donating a dress to me and my friends. it really saved our parents a lot of money.

I went by private appointment in 2009, it was a blast. The people helping us seemed like they were truly interested in making sure we each had a great dress. If we needed a different size they would go and get it for us, while we tried on another dress! The process was really simple, and the experience was amazing. You really did feel like a princess. The dress would have bee enough for me but they went above and beyond helping me pick out an accessory, then a goodie bag with makeup, accessories, even perfume! This is definitely one of the best thing a girl could go to if she doesn’t have that much money. The best part about it was that i got to share this experience with 9 of my closest friends and my mom!
Thanks so much Project Princess!!
